Research Seminar: ‘AI for Inclusive Education: Perspectives on Pedagogy Development’

As part of our project, we host an international research seminar series. On 25th Feburary, we ran our first seminar on 'AI for inclusive education: perspectives on pedagogy development'. The seminar keynote was led by Dr Serdar Abaci (University of Ediburgh). During the keynote, Dr Abaci spoke about:

  • Intersection of inclusive and digital pedagogy (before we talk about AI in education)
  • Responsible use of AI in education and how this links to inclusion
  • Framework(s) for AI literacy
  • Project highlight: AI in Secondary Schools
    • Our approach to working with teachers
    • Our partnership with key stakeholders in Scottish education system
  • Conclusion
    • Barriers to bring inclusive AI in education
    • Challenges AI itself may pose for inclusive education
    • Opportunities for using AI for more inclusive education

After the keynote presentation, members of the project team and Dr Abaci led a panel discussion on the questions and issues raised by Dr Abaci and audiance members.

Seminar 'AI for inclusive education - perspectives from pedagogy development'

Theory of Change Workshop

Project team members will participate in a Theory of Change masterclass workshop on 10th December 2024 to learn about how ToC can facilitate schools and teachers to design and evaluate digital transformation work. This workshop will be led by Dr Richard Davies from University of Hertfordshire, UK.
