Project network and impact

Our project directly works with eight high schools across the north, central and south regions of Vietnam. Throughout the project, the participating schools have been very active in hosting workshops, running mini pilot projects and sharing engagement and impact. In this part of the project website, we share the engagement and impact communications, publications and evaluations from participating schools.

Participating schools:

1. Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary-High School / (THCS và THPT Nguyễn Tất Thành)

Nguyen Tat Thanh School is a prestigious, high-quality educational institution under Hanoi National University of Education, established on July 4, 1998, in the heart of Hanoi. The school offers education at both lower and upper secondary levels, focusing on holistic student development, fostering academic thinking, and encouraging independent learning within a supportive environment. With experienced and dedicated teachers, together with its close affiliation with Hanoi National University of Education, the school continues to affirm its position as a high-quality institution that contributes to the development of well-rounded, resilient students with ambition and a strong sense of purpose.

Profile overview: The school currently has 56 classes with a total of 2,572 students.

Key achievements: In recent years, the school has consistently recorded outstanding achievements in comprehensive education. It has maintained top-tier results in the high school graduation examinations, as well as strong performance in entrance exams to specialized high schools, student academic competitions, scientific research, innovation initiatives, and various intellectual contests at both national and international levels.

2. High school of Education Sciences (HES) (Trường THPT Khoa học Giáo dục)

 High School of Education Sciences (HES) is a prestigious public high school affiliated with Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), established on 3 March 2026 with a mission to deliver high-quality education grounded in VNU's academic strengths. Drawing on a rigorous, research-informed curriculum spanning both natural and social sciences, HES is staffed by a team of highly qualified educators committed to academic excellence and well-rounded student development. The school consistently ranks among Hanoi's leading high schools, producing graduates who go on to excel at top universities across Vietnam and abroad.

Profile overview: 27 classes, 750 students, 72 teachers, 15 office staff, 3 school administrators.

Key achievements: The school has a strong record of academic excellence, with consistent success in national competitions. It reached a peak of 11 awards in the National Excellent Student Competition (2024–2025) and secured a national first prize in science and technology, progressing to ISEF 2025 (USA). Students have also achieved outstanding results in the VNU Olympic Competition, with a record 80 awards, alongside significant growth in international language certification rates, rising to over 80% in 2024-2025.

3. Phan Huy Chu - Quoc Oai High School (Trường THPT Phan Huy Chú - Quốc Oai)

Phan Huy Chu - Quoc Oai High School was established in 2018 and is located in the Quoc Oai – an outskirt district of Hanoi. The teaching staff are dedicated, innovative, and have consistently won high prizes in the City-level Excellent Teacher Competition. The school has also been recognized for its professional quality, digital transformation initiatives, and emulation movements, with many individuals and departments receiving prestigious awards.

Profile overview: The school serves 1,882 students across 42 classes, with the support of 106 highly qualified teachers and staff.

Key achievements: The school has achieved outstanding results in both mainstream and gifted education, maintaining a 100% high school graduation rate from 2023–2025. In the 2024–2025 academic year, 21 students scored 24 points or higher in the university entrance examination, including outstanding results of 29 and 28 points in the C00 subject combination.

In 2024–2025, students also achieved impressive results in the City-level Excellent Student Competition and Cluster-level Olympic competitions, winning 2 First Prizes, 2 Second Prizes, 9 Third Prizes, and 16 Consolation Prizes, with an award rate of 60%. This success rate increased to 74.5% in the 2025–2026 academic year.

The school has also achieved four consecutive years of top awards in the City-level Excellent Teacher Competition. In addition, 34 staff members and teachers were honored as Grassroots Emulation Fighters.

4. Yen Khanh A High School (THPT Yên Khánh A)

Yen Khanh A High School was established in 1965 in Ninh Binh Province and stands as one of the region's leading high schools, with a tradition of academic excellence spanning nearly six decades. 

Profile overview: The school currently has 35 classrooms, 1506 students, 77 teachers, and 9 staff members.

Key achievements:

  • In the 1987–1988 school year, the school was recognized as a leading institution in the secondary education sector of Ha Nam Ninh Province. In the 1989–1990 school year, it was awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal by the State. For many consecutive years, the school has been recognized as an outstanding advanced unit within the Ninh Binh Department of Education and Training.
  • In 1995, the school was awarded the Second-Class Labor Medal, followed by the First-Class Labor Medal in 2000. In 2005, it received the Third-Class Independence Medal, and in 2010, the Second-Class Independence Medal. That same year, it was also recognized as meeting national standards by the Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee.
  • Notably, on May 30, 2012, the President of Vietnam signed a decision conferring the title of Hero of Labor in the Renovation Period on Yen Khanh A High School.
  • From 2015 to 2020, the school received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee. In the 2021–2022 school year, it was recognized by the Provincial People’s Committee as meeting cultural standards. On March 23, 2022, the Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee issued Decision No. 290, recognizing the school as meeting National Standards Level II.

5. Quy Chau High School (THPT Quỳ Châu)

Quy Chau High School was established in 1965 in Quy Chau Town, Nghe An Province, serving students across three districts: Quy Chau, Phu Hop, and Que Phong. From humble beginnings with just 2 classes, 75 students, and 7 teachers, the school has grown into a nationally recognised institution, achieving National Standard High School status in 2020. Consistently earning the title of Outstanding Advanced School, it is supported by a team of experienced teachers and modern, well-equipped facilities.

Profile overview: The school currently has 42 classrooms, 1890 students, and 93 staff members (87 teachers).

Key achievements: The school has been consistently recognized as an exemplary outstanding performer for many consecutive years. Each year, over 80% of students achieve good or excellent academic performance, while more than 90% attain good or higher conduct. The graduation rate is consistently maintained at over 99.6%. Students have achieved strong results in provincial Excellent Student Competitions, ranking first and second in Group B and placing within the top 10 across the province. In addition, the school Youth Union has been repeatedly recognized as an outstanding unit at the provincial level and has received Certificates of Merit and commendations from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

6. Que Phong High School (THPT Quế Phong)

Que Phong High School was established in 1967 in Kim Son Town, Que Phong District, Nghe An Province, with a long tradition of nurturing students of strong character and academic achievement. Recognised with a Prime Minister's Commendation for outstanding contributions to education, the school is served by a fully qualified teaching staff and continues to improve graduation rates, while working towards National Standard School status in its commitment to student-centred, high-quality learning.

Profile overview: The school currently has 45 classes, 2087 students, and 100 staff members, including teachers and other employees.

Key achievements: Awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister of Vietnam and recognized for five consecutive years of outstanding task performance.

7. Practice High School,  University of Education (Trường Trung học Thực hành Đại học Sư phạm)

The Practice High School, affiliated with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, is a long-established educational institution with roots dating back to before 1975, when it was formerly known as Thu Duc Model School. After 1975, the University of Education assumed management of the school and renamed it the Practice High School of the University of Education. In September 1981, the school was transferred to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training for administration. On May 13, 1999, the school was officially re-established under a decision issued by Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.

Profile overview: The school currently has 24 classes, with 8 classes at each grade level, serving more than 1,800 students. Its staff includes 34 full-time teachers, 22 visiting lecturers, 1 foreign teacher, and 6 contracted support staff members.

Key achievements:

  • The school has been awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister of Vietnam and received three Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training for Outstanding Collective Achievement, along with recognition from the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.
  • The high school graduation rate has consistently remained at 100% for many consecutive years.
  • Students have achieved outstanding results in National and City-level Excellent Student and STEM competitions, including two Fourth Prizes at the 2025–2026 National Science and Engineering Fair for secondary and high school students.
  • The school has also earned international achievements, including a Silver Medal in the International Mathematics Olympiad and a Bronze Medal in the MOS World Championship.
  • The school is a pioneer in academic exchange activities and has signed MOUs with leading universities in Japan, Taiwan, Australia, and the United States.

8. Chau Phu High School (THPT Châu Phú)

Chau Phu High School was established on November 3, 1984, in An Giang Province and is one of the prestigious, high-quality high schools in the Mekong Delta region. The school has a team of young, dynamic teachers who actively promote the use of technology in teaching and management.

Profile overview: The school has 30 classes in the 2025–2026 school year, with a total of 1,340 students, 64 teachers, 3 administrators, and 8 support staff members.

Key achievements: The school’s teachers have received numerous recognitions, including Provincial Excellent Teacher titles, Outstanding Homeroom Teacher awards at the provincial level, and commendations from the Provincial People’s Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Prime Minister. Several teachers have also been honored as Provincial Emulation Fighters.
